About Me:

I am a woman with a mind for perfection trying to fight perfection. I will give grace to others before I will apply that same grace to myself. I appreciate grace from others but don’t expect it. I am challenged by a father who doesn’t live perfection but expects perfection. I have learned the most from my children. I have learned that we all have a life path, and no matter how much pressure I put on that person with my expectations their life path is still theirs. I can listen to my children, sometimes I say things that shouldn’t be said to my children. My children are grown now, but when they were little I am certain I yelled at them too much. I hope they don’t remember those parts. If you are my child and reading this, I am sorry I yelled at you. I appreciate what my children have taught me about other human beings.

I am a veteran. I am a Woman Veteran. That statement has taken me 3 years, 8 months and 17 days to say. I didn’t serve in combat. I served on Active Duty for 3 years and 9 months. I served in the Air National Guard for 18 years. Serving in the Air National Guard does not give Veteran Status. Deploying to Active Duty while in the Air National Guard does give Veteran Status. I served people while serving in the Air National Guard. I served some really great Airmen.

I am now a woman who makes her own decisions with help from family and friends and a dear man who loves me and appreciates me and does not gas light.
